Diagnostic Ultrasound (USG) & Sonography
The Department of Radio-Diagnosis & Imaging at Aditya Hospital (Aditya Lifeline Pvt. Ltd.) provides high-resolution Diagnostic Ultrasound (USG) and advanced Colour Doppler sonography services in Indore. Utilizing multi-frequency acoustic transducers and modern imaging algorithms, our qualified radiologists deliver non-invasive, radiation-free, real-time diagnostic evaluation of internal organs, abdominal structures, vascular flow, and fetal development.
1. Non-Invasive Acoustic Imaging & Diagnostic Precision
Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves rather than ionizing radiation, making it completely safe for all demographics, including pregnant mothers, neonates, and geriatric patients:
- Zero Ionizing Radiation: 100% safe imaging modality with no radiation hazards, ideal for routine serial follow-ups and antenatal tracking.
- Real-Time Dynamic Assessment: Immediate evaluation of organ mobility, blood flow dynamics, peristalsis, and physiological movements.
- High Soft-Tissue Contrast: Clear distinction between solid parenchymal masses, cystic fluid collections, abscesses, and calculus formations.
- Image-Guided Interventions: Real-time ultrasound guidance for therapeutic aspirations, cyst drainages, and diagnostic fluid taps with pinpoint precision.
2. Comprehensive Sonography Services Offered
Our radiology division provides a full spectrum of clinical ultrasound and Doppler investigations:
Abdomen & Pelvis Sonography
Comprehensive evaluation of the liver, gallbladder (gallstones), kidneys (calculi/hydronephrosis), pancreas, spleen, bladder, and prostate.
Obstetric & Antenatal Scans
Pregnancy dating scans, early viability scans, growth profiling, placental localization, and liquor (AFI) monitoring under strict PNDT compliance.

3. Patient Preparation Guidelines
Depending on the anatomical region being scanned, basic preparations ensure the clearest diagnostic acoustic window:
- Upper Abdomen Ultrasound: Requires 4 to 6 hours of fasting to allow proper gallbladder distension and reduce overlying bowel gas.
- Pelvic, KUB & Early Obstetric Scans: Requires a full urinary bladder; patients are instructed to drink 3–4 glasses of water 1 hour prior to the scan without voiding.
- Transvaginal (TVS) Sonography: Performed with an empty bladder for optimal proximity and visualization of pelvic reproductive organs.
- Small Parts / Thyroid / Doppler: Requires no special dietary preparation; normal medications can be taken as scheduled.
4. Integrated Clinical Diagnostic Support
Ultrasound diagnostics work hand-in-hand with our In-House Pathology Laboratory, 12-Lead ECG, and surgical departments, enabling fast clinical decision-making for acute colic, appendicitis, gallstones, and obstetric needs.
